National Institute for Minamata Disease has so far organized classes and work experience for local elementary, junior high and high school students. The Minamata calligraphy and painting competition is held to provide elementary, junior high and high school students with opportunities to think about Minamata, including its beautiful nature, and to contribute to raising their awareness of environmental conservation.
The winners are awarded by the director of National Institute for Minamata Disease, and the award ceremony is held in the auditorium of the Minamata Disease Archives.
Theme 「Words that evoke Minamata and its beautiful nature.」
*Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji characters are acceptable (e.g. Umi, Eco Park, Yuubae, etc.)
1st to 3rd grade primary schools students, 4th to 6th grade primary schools students, junior high school students, high school students (Awards will be given for 1st to 3rd grade, 4th to 6th grade, junior high and high school students.)
