It takes 2 hrs from Kumamoto,_Kagoshima and Miyazaki,_1hr and 20 min from Hitoyoshi. (Parking lots are available in the Eco-park Minamata)

* There is a dedicated parking space for visitors with physical disabilities and other difficulties, located near the Minamata Disease Municipal Museum adjacent to the Archives.

By Kyushu Shinkansen bullet train

To reach Shin-Minamata, it takes about 60 min from Hakata, about 25 min from Kumamoto, and about 30 min from Kagoshima-Chuo.

By Orange Railway

To reach Minamata, it takes about 60 min from Yatsushiro and about 100 min from Sendai.

Access by bus

The nearest bus stop is "Minamatabyo Shiryokan Shita" on Line "No. 3: Minamata Sanko - Michi-no-Eki Tanoura," operated by Sanko Bus.
There are stops at Shin-Minamata Station and at Minamata Station to take this line.
Get on a bus bound for "Minamata Sanko Yuki" and get off at a stop called "Minamatabyo Shiryokan Shita."
