We can make arrangements for tours and training for visitors from Japan and abroad to present operations and activities undertaken by the National Institute for Minamata Disease, as well as our research and other work concerning Minamata disease and mercury. Specific examples of arrangements made in the past include: actual measurement of mercury in hair samples; lectures on the environmental fate of mercury, the mercury pollution status on the global map, and the Minamata disease incident viewed from a social science perspective and; practical training of total mercury and methylmercury analysis. As details of a prospective visit/tour or training will be coordinated on a case-by-case basis through prior consultation, please let us know first what kind of activity you are interested in. We also have an extensive track record of accommodating technical training and similar occasions both in and outside of Japan.
