統括調整官。専門分野は土壌化学。
特に土壌、水環境中の水銀に関する化学的動態とその変化について研究。社会科学分野である地域政策関連に対し、水俣高校、水俣市、水俣漁協等との連携を通じて幅広く地域に密着した活動を実施している。
